  1. Hey Don,

I went to college in Plattsburgh, where Lake Placid Craft Brewing had their second brewery, which is now closed. They used to have free evening tours/tastings, which was dangerous in a college town! Their Lake Placid IPA (formerly known as Frostbite) is my favorite, though they are all excellent.

    Other local favorites include:

Sackets Harbor Brewing Co- Sackets Harbor, NY
Davidson Brothers Brewing Co- Glens Falls, NY
Van Dyck- Schenectady, NY (should be brewing again soon!)

Keep us posted on your progress!

      Thanks Bryan-
Although we go up to Lake Placid every year, I didn’t discover the brewery until I found their Ubu Ale in a local store. It looks like their pub is off Main Street, so not as visible as the other brewery at the Steak and Seafood restaurant. We had a not so good experience there last time, so we’re definitely going to check out the Lake Placid Pub and Brewery next time.
Now that you mention it, I’ve enjoyed Sackets Harbor Brewing Co. too, so I’m going to add that one to my list.
